I'm not one to sit down and read a play, but this one really got my attention when we read it in high school English. The characters stuck in my mind. I read the part of Elizabeth in class, and I really immersed myself in her character. So much that when I saw the movie with Joan Allen, I didn't really feel that she captured Elizabeth as well as I liked. My daughters had read “The Crucible” by Arthur Miller in their A. P. Literature course and suggested that I read it. I did not get the opportunity to read it the same time they did but I did get a audio copy of the book to listen to will I work out.
