I didn't really have any expectations for this one. My copy is an old Swedish translations from 1954. Ernest Hemingway is one of those literary people that everyone has heard of - and perhaps that was one thing that seemed daunting to me when picking this up.

However, I didn't like this book that much. It as OK. The writing style is very "matter-of-factely", and sometimes a bit too dry. You don't really get to know the main character that much, other than he being a fan of drinking mostly every d

Before reading this book, all I really knew about it was that Hemingway wrote it (which is suppose to be a good thing), it was about WWI, and that Holden Caulfield from Catcher in the Rye was not a fan. In fact, this what he thought of it,"What gets me about D.B., though, he hated the war so much, and yet he got me to read this book A Farewell to Arms last summer. He said it was so terrific.
