Tried to read this a second time (7/19/2022) to see if I could understand it better. Could not get very far. Last time I listened to it on audio. This time I tried reading it and listening at the same time. I just don't understand how this book is considered a classic. It should have been scrapped. I think that when (not if) I read this again I will change my rating to five stars as it was probably a mistake diving into it not knowing what to expect. Nevertheless I still found Ulysses to be a brilliant read, something like a drug: you know it's bad for you but you can't help getting dragged in deeper and deeper and coming back for more. ...more
