I would really like to give this 3.5 stars. I always enjoy Jane Austen. There were several memorable quotes in this book. On the whole though I didn't enjoy Persuasion as much as P&P or Emma. Those remain my favorite Austen. The ending was great but through the first half of the book I wished Anne the main character would develop a little more backbone. I think Anne Elliot is my favorite Jane Austen character- she’s sassy, she’s smart, and she’s true to herself. She’s 27, aka a wicked old bachelorette in these times, and has few romantic prospects. Eight years ago she broke off her engagement to Frederick Wentworth. When they finally meet again, it’s a beautiful story of true love waiting.

This book was published posthumously and I found it to be so much sassier than Jane’s other novels I’ve read (Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Sense and Sensibilit
