The Island of Dr Moreau is good old science fic with a mad scientist & philosophical fic asking what it takes to be a human, questioning existence of God/religion, and ethics of animal experimentation. At least that's my take on it.

Wow yes! My third 5/5 book of the year. I’ve never had such a great reading year since I was in my early teens. This novel is made for me, a beautiful blend of Animal Farm, Frankenstein and Lord of the Flies.

Really good read. Being into sci fi and science in general it was hard not to chuckle a bit. The underlying themes were good. Wells is alsways driving at some point.
I liked this a lot more than I expected, but then again, my expectations were set by the 1996 film.
