This is the second time that I've read this book. However, this time I read it as part of a reading group here on Goodreads. This is a piece of work that brings up issues of religion in conjunction with the philosophy of existentialism (that we make our own destinies), so if you have the opportunity to read this with a group I recommend doing so. What I found most interesting was discussing the book and being able to hear other peoples' interpretations of characters and events.
