I finally finished listening to this book on tape...I could barely listen to it. But I can check it off my short list of books I started, but never finished. Boring beyond belief and should've been half as long.

I do NOT understand why this is considered to be a modern classic. I found it mildly amusing, but not as entertaining as many others found it. I don't appreciate dark humor, so that was a major part of my dislike for the book. And I didn't like any of the many characters in the book and

The challenge was to read a book that I had started but never finished. I started reading this masterpiece first when I was in my 20’s and frankly, I didn't get it. I was certainly not as literary then as now, but I don’t think that was really the problem. It may have been part of the problem, but I think the real problem was that I didn't think the book made sense. Rather, it was written about a world that doesn't make sense.
