Very lush language, which wasn't great for listening in my car. I keep being distracted by the sound of the words and then realize I wasn't paying attention to what was actually being said. It's not very plot driven so that wasn't too bad. The group agreed that it had a very Romeo-and-Juliet feel, in that the protagonists were fully adolescent in their passion and commitment to death before dis-loving. ...more

This is not a book for someone who wants a clear story or plot. This is a series of letters between two mysterious agents who can travel in time. I thought the writing and imagery was beautiful and I enjoyed the slow reveal of the world, though my patience was put to the test somewhat.
