You guys..! The ending to this audio book with the song!!!! It gave me goosebumps and brought tears to my eyes!!!! WHAT AN AMAZING BOOK!!!! I cant even handle all these emotions right now!

Such a good book! Loved the world-building. It's a mash-up of sci-fi and old Rome. About 1000 years into the future. The human race has terraformed what planets and moons of our solar system they could. A rebellion to overthrow the Golds (humanities ruling color) throws Darrow (a Red) out of the mines of Mars and into the fabulous world he never knew existed. His transformation is amazing and the characters come to life while struggling to survive the trials they must face in the Institute's war ...more

Wow, was this book something else!

There are few books that I tell my husband he is going to be reading while I'm still reading it, but I think I was already prepping him for it by about page 90.

Although, this book may not be for everyone! The copy I have is a paperback used copy I bought at a used bookstore, and I mention it because I know exactly where the previous owner gave up on the book; on page 81 of the paper back version is the line, "

Okay, so there's a lot of hype about this book, and in my opinion, it's well-deserved. The first thirty pages are a little slow...so give it some time. Fair warning: there's some language here, and a ton of violence. I can see why there are some comparisons to The Hunger Games, although there's no copying here.
