A reread that was much needed. Writing Interview helped Anne in her grief and reading this again is helping me in mine.
Ugh ...
Actually, the last 30 or 40 pages were pretty good.
But that doesn't make up (not by half) for the rest!
The story is slow, and the characters are terrible.
And not in that romantic way; the way that draws you to a villain:
The protagonist whines. A lot.
His daughter/girlfriend is just ... creepy.
And Lestat? He's just a boorish jackass.
People have told me that this wasn't her best - that it's the sequels that makes the series epic. Still ... ...more

This was not my fare at all. If it was possible to fall asleep while reading this book gave me many restful nights.
