Third read (August 2025) - Seems like I do TFL reread once every six years. Glokta's still awesome but flawed, Jezal's still a twat, Logen's still pookie, Dogman's still boring, Ferro's still...angry? Also I forgot about Logen-Ferro vs 20 Practicals' fight scene. That was cool.
And it is funny to read all the familiar (family) names of the Lords here as their descendants were also in the Age of Madness trilogy. I hope Joe writes more in this universe. I wanna see Savine's twins in power!

Great book. This is the first Abercrombie book I've read. He creates very interesting characters. Good story arc, interesting world he's built. Leaves you on a cliff hanger so you have to go right into book #2. I kinda expected that when I got into it.
