This book is still great and a very appropriate read whilst spending a week at Stinson Beach.

Apparently the edition I have is pretty old and started to disintegrate during said week. Currently being held together with rubber-bands.

Reading also coincided with the Sci-Fri book club read-along which was highly enjoyable.

(4.5) Hard to put down

I can see flaws, but also see why it has spawned a near religious following. Tore through it rather quickly (at least vs my current reading velocity).

Wasn’t sure what was supposed to be pulled directly from Arab culture (some of the linguistic borrowings were obvious), so some of the very terrestrial parallels took me out-of-world for a bit.
