Started off with a roar that carried through the first two thirds of the book. The last third dragged a wee bit, but picked up toward the end for me. Though published in 1965, this book still managed to hold my interest like more contemporary fantasy/sci-fi does. A pleasant surprise. Usually, dated works tend not to capture my imagination. Definitely recommended. A classic worthy of the moniker 'classic.'
