I liked this. I went into it knowing next to nothing of Circe. I have a surface level (millimeter thick) knowledge of ancient Greek legends (I've attempted multiple times to read the The Iliad/The Odyssey by Homer and never finished). I really liked the point of view envisioned by the author and the voice she gave the much maligned witch of Aeaea.

This book was amazing. I loved every page. I have not read a whole lot of Greek/Roman mythology, so I was not familiar with Circe, but some of the other characters & stories I knew ... so it was really fun getting this great original story / perspective that intertwined with some other familiar stories.

I quite liked the beginning and the end, but the middle sagged a bit for me. Something about interminable isolation, loneliness and overwhelming fear for the safety of one's child was a little rough to get through in early 2021...
