This started slowly, so I bounced when the book club read it but tried again on audio. And this time I pushed through to the interesting parts and it was a great book for a long drive, keeping me alert and interested. Maybe I’ll go on to the next.

Myfanwy Thomas has lost her memory. Fortuitously, she knew it was coming, and wrote herself a suitcase full of letters so that she might make it through her days as a high-level member of a secret, supernatural agency without being discovered and solve the whodunnit. Also rather providentially, the memory wipe took her social anxiety and timid personality with it. Half-epistolary/half-spy novel the story is pretty compelling and fun. I rarely enjoy 1st person narratives from a woman's point of view authored by a man, but this is pretty well done.
It took me a little while to get drawn in but I really enjoyed this story. It had plenty of action and a great sense of humor. ...more
