Real rating: 3.5 (I wish there is a .5 rating in Goodreads).

This is my second audiobook! (I have to tell you that I am just so excited of the concept of me "reading" really quickly). Anyway, this is a dystopian drama. I have mistakenly thought, based on the title, that this is an SF book.

This character driven literary novel about the end of civilization as we know it is a fast paced read. For an apocalyptic story Ms. Mandel focuses on the characters that survive so there is hardly any violence throughout, though the hint of it is everywhere. It is also a story about art and its importance to society, and especially to the characters she chose to tell this story. It is a moving tale with a bittersweet taste, yet altogether hopeful.
