I was pleased with this book....since no one is actually going to read this review for anything important because most people have already read it; I'll just list what I like and be done with it. :)

didn't turn out to be totally lame, even after all the hype and a movie being made about it...
went super fast, kept me interested, lots of action

3.5 stars actually. This is the first in a series of a dystopian society set in a future Chicago. Tris must choose her faction from one of five. Does she stay in the one she spent the first sixteen years of her life (and with her family), or does she choose one that it is more her? I certainly wouldn't make it in the factions. I can't wait to read the next book and start watching the movies. :)

Beatrice 'Tris' Porter
The beginning was a bit slow for me. It just felt like I was reading about any teenage girl, in any other time, going about mundane things in her life.
Once Beatrice made her choice and moved to this new faction things started to get better, but it really didn't pick up and pull me in until the last part of this book.
I think if I had known more about the characters backgrounds or more about the factions from the beginning, I would have felt more invested in the story from ...more

Not quite as good as Hunger Games, but still a really good read.
