I loved the world with all the different creatures and beings. Learning about how they travel space through grimspace and people with the J gene was interesting. I did find Sirantha whiny at times though. I will be reading the next book to find out what happens next.

One star for originality but four and a half stars for plot and character development. Heroine is a smart-mouthed, "don't tell me what to do," amazing at her job but on the run navigator who is one of only a few people who can do what she does because of a special gene. She has recently suffered a devastating loss. Love interest is at turns tender and dangerous, just and immoral. There was so much packed into just over 300 pages, made my head spin slightly.

Sirantha Jax is the only survivor of a space ship crash that killed over 80 people. Held in a mental facility by her employers (the Corp), subjected to dream therapy, she can't remember what happened, but she knows she's being blamed for the crash - or being encouraged to take the blame.

I did not like this book. I just couldn't connect with Jax or March. March is a very quiet reserved kind of guy who doesn't open up...hell most of the time, he didn't even speak. There was just something about Jax that I didn't like. I can't really put my finger on it but I couldn't care less what happened next which made it hard to finish the book. This also was a little too sci-fi for me. Not really my kinda of book. ...more
