5 stars. The most frustrating book in the series so far and I can see why fans are so polarized on it. I loved it, don't get me wrong but I really wanted to strangle the entire hell out of Phury for majority of the book which was annoying. He just was not using his head.

I mainly loved this book because of all of the side stories going on with all of the other characters like Qhuinn, Blay, John and Rehv. I honestly found myself more interested with them and their plots. There was a lot of action ...more

A war is coming and not just between the black dagger brothers and the Lessening society but for Phury as well.
Phury needs to make a choice between being the bloodline for the brothers as Primale of the Chosen or being with the woman he loves but there's a problem with any choice he makes because he needs to help himself.

Cormia,who was his first chosen mate, wanted more from Phury than just being a baby mama. She wanted his heart but Phury has never allowed himself that pleasure. Cormia is a s ...more

As I continue my Audible reread of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J. R. Ward, I remember Lover Enshrined being the first one I didn't love. It features Phury and Cormia's story, and I found them a bit uninteresting. We go deeper in depth and learn his backstory. In the prior book, Phury volunteered to become Primale of the Vampire species so Vishous could be with his fated mate. This is Phury & Cormia's story, though they were only about half the book. Phury has become the Primale and Cormia is the First Mate, one of 40 he is to be with. There is so much else going on in this story too. John and Xhex's story is kicking off, Qhuinn, Blay, Lash, The Chosen, Rehvenge!

I liked this book a lot. As ever, I get a little irritated with the constant jumping between characters, but all in all I liked Phury and Cormia's story. I like that the changes were big, but mostly reasonable. And overall... I like that for once a romance series seems to have a decent plot that takes the forefront most of the time. ...more
