05/02/2022: Reread on audiobook!
I am so glad that I decided to reread this series again. I love these characters so much. I admit, the first time I picked up this series I didn't know if it would be up my alley or not. The whole alien thing wasn't my jam at the time but I had heard so many great things about this series that I had to pick it up and give it a shot. I am so thankful that I did because reading this series morphed into having a new favorite author. The characters in this series real

Fantastic! I was unsure how I was going to like Daemon because I liked Dawson so much in Shadows and well he wasn't the most pleasant person in it. And yes he's still acting like an asshat but I didn't mind it. It helped in the tension development between him and Katy. Which is always plus for me.

As I read this I was literally laughing out loud, some made grinning like fool some of the digs and remarks where just great. So can't wait to read the next book.

3.5 stars. I'm surprised how much I like this book even though it contained many elements that I don't usually like in plots: (view spoiler)

Sadly, I think I'm over snarky, sarcastic, angsty teen heroines. I don't think my dislike of Katy in this book was quite as much as my dislike of Alex in the Covenant series, but there were times it was close. What a shame! The idea behind this book was fantastic - I just loved the concept of beings of light and I thought Demon was great, albeit a bit predictable. But ugh (this is where the inevitable "eye roll" goes in), why do these teen heroines have to be so idiotic at times? When the book s ...more

Loved it! I will definitely be reading the rest of these! For a YA, I found these to be very well written, with just the right amount of romance-y fun stuff...for those of you who enjoy your romances a bit on the hot side like I do, you will know what I mean. ;) Of course, it is a teen book, so it is still pretty clean considering...I just thought that it was written in such a way that content didn't matter as much. The tension between the two main characters was more than enough to make up for ...more

Wow, it was the most sizzling hot YA book I've ever read! I mean that literally, it sizzles right out the page and stung me!!

It started with a Twilight-ness similarity; a gorgeous girl moving to a small town due to some family circumstances in her final year of highschool but that's where it stops. And that gorgeous boy next door? He is NOT 'the boy next door' gorgeous, he is BAD BOY HOTNESS!!

I managed to discipline myself and only started reading on a new day, yep, first thing in the morning on

My first thought was Twilight moved to West Virginia. There were many similarities but I thought the trace thing was interesting and a good way to force a connection between Katy and Daemon. Obviously there was an instant attraction between them but the ignoring and insults would have turned any real teenager off not kept them coming back for more. It's been a long time since I was a teenager but I wouldn't have put up with his bullshit.

Anyway, I really liked Dee and kept reading in hopes of her

Rating: 4.5/5

This one pretty much lived its hype and I’m very pleased that I had those expectations about it, because I’m not the least disappointed!

I actually listened to this on audio book, and once I got used to the narrator's voice, it was fun to just sit back and have someone read me the story. (my hubby refuses to read to me...even if I am too sick to read a physical book) :p
I think I will probably listen to the rest of the series on audio too.
As for the story itself, well let's just say I am a huge fan of the show Roswell, and this gave me the same vibe. Nothing too serious, crazy teenage drama, cheesy dialogue at times, but exactly
