"I learned that you can know someone for just days and never forget the impression he left on you."
Oh my God, this book was good! The ending... I'M DISEASED!
The beginning was a little bit "meh" and I was hesitant to start this book because of Amy (it's no secret that I found her annoying and immature in Across the Universe and A Million Suns), but she ended up surprising me. In the end I didn't care for her, because there were so many twists that made forget about everything else.

This cover is going to drive my OCD crazy!
(I'm super picky about my bookshelf. It's arranged by genre in alphabetical order. Also, if they are in a series they have to all be either hardcover or paperback and match! Moira Young's Dustlands series did this to me too =( the book Gods are working against me *shakes fist*) ...more

This is the final book in the Across the Universe Trilogy, and it took me quite awhile to finally get here. It happens much more than I'd like it to and I'm hoping that I will become more in the habit of reading through series instead of jumping around. However, as a mood read that doesn't always happen. Wow, I digress, this was the combination of so many things. I had so many expectations because I enjoyed the rest of the series so much that I wanted a perfect ending. While it wasn't a 5 star r

Revis carries the momentum from the second book of the series, A Million Suns, into the third book of the trilogy. I was riveted from start to finish!
I listened to A Million Suns back in 2012, and I bought Shades of Earth from Audible when it was released in 2013. However, I’ve been putting it off for so long. One of the reasons for that is because I absolutely loved A Million Suns, and I was worried that Revis wouldn’t deliver and that there was no way that the third book could be as good as th ...more

Excellent ending to a great series! People, action, world-building, mystery and danger were all very well done.
Likes:
* Thrilling, edge of your seat, adventure
* World building on the new planet was excellent - deadly predators loose in a combination Jurrasic Park/National Park setting

Why do I often pick up a later book in a series? Such is the case with this one which is the last in a trilogy. Yet I liked it very much. It is easily a stand alone since references to the earlier novels are clear and concise.
Imagine traveling through the stars to a new earth or rather an earth-like planet to make a new home. Such is the case with those aboard the spaceship Godspeed. Most of the inhabitants look exactly alike but one group has the differences of original mankind. This group make ...more

I finished
A Million Suns
and started Shades of Earth almost right away, which I then finished in one day. I just didn't want to put this book down and had to see where the story ended.
The story picks up exactly where the previous one left us. There was so much going on, though I did have suspicions I really wasn't right about any of them, so the twists and turns were great!

I might change my rating later when I've stepped away for a while but for now it falls at a 3.5 stars.
In the first 2 books I'm kept on my toes when it comes to guessing what's going to happen next. Some incidents I was able to figure out correctly but much was still a mystery until it was revealed. In this book I was 10 steps ahead of the plot for almost the entire book.
