My favorite book in the wallflowers series.

6/2/2016

I am so excited. Eve and Sebastian St. Vincent are back. I just finishes reading an excerpt from the next book in the Revenel series and the story takes place 30 years after Evie's marriage. She is a sexy grandma and former lord St. Vincent is now Duke of Kingston and still a rake. Apparently their son Gabriel has compromised Lady Pandora Revenel. The book is called Devil in Spring and the release date is Feb 27th, 2017.

Obviously, this is a very good read. My first in this series but it doesn't matter if you read the previous books or not.

The characters, Evie and Sebastian, are highly likeable. I can easily find the love between them. Their story is not really complicated or innovative but the writing is excellent.

The only problem is that I had a feeling of deja vu while reading it. And as long as I'm sure I have never read this book before, I have probably read too many historical romances. After some time yo

This is my second Kleypas novel and I'd heard that every Kleypas fan's favorite hero was either Derek Craven or Sebastian St. Vincent. And I think I can definitely say between those two I fall in the Derek Craven camp. Sebastian just never quite won me over in the book.

The first part of this book was just okay for me. I wasn't super into either character really, though I did feel for Evie with her situation. And the first steamy scene in this book kind of put me off a little. That being

The shyest and most sheltered of the Wallflowers, Evangeline (Evie) Jenner has decided to take matters into her own hands. Uninvited, unchaperoned and late at night Evie arrives at Sebastian St. Vincent's door with a proposal. Rather than be forced into a loveless arranged marriage to her cousin and leaving her fortune in her odious aunt's control, Evie suggests a marriage of convenience between herself and Simon.

Though the other Wallflowers were missed, they along with Marcus did make cameos.

I was really looking forward to this book and enjoyed it, but it wasn't as fabulous as I had expected it to be. The characters were enjoyable, but it seemed as though they had changed too abruptly from their previous personas in the earlier two books of the series: Evie had become much more confident and Sebastian had become much more sweet, both were just a little bit unbelievable. I would have preferred it if they had remained the same and developed a little more slowly as a couple. But, that ...more

Evangeline Jenner & Sebastian, Lord St. Vincent

I wasn't quite sure how I was going to get past Sebastian's actions in the previous book, but witnessing his behavior with Evie definitely warmed me to him.

Even when he was acting like his arrogant self in the beginning he saw to her comfort, and it just got better from there.

I completely understand why Evie with to Sebastian even after what he did to Lillian. She was living in the house with people who were supposed to love her but were much worse
