What Members Thought

I read this series rather slowly and it will never become my favorite series, or even my favorite series by this author. But these are good stories that I enjoy every time I read them.
In this case, I was a bit surprised by the direction the story took. After the initial scenes with Stefan, I thought the story would involve him more and that he would be a key character in the book. He didn't, though, and I'm not really sure I'm disappointed. The main plot of this book takes place completely outsi ...more

Mercy Thompson & Adam Hauptman
I was swept up into the story from the very beginning. Mercy and Adam together make me really happy, so this book starting off the way it did made me ecstatic.
Then off the go on their trip, and you have to know that things are not exactly what they seem. Someone wanted them where they ended up for a reason, and boy was it a doozy.
The good thing is that we got info about Mercy's parentage, finally!!! It was a bit confusing, but it feed that hole I've been wanting f ...more

Mercy is one of my favorites, but I think this book suffered a bit from being away from the pack and friends with just Mercy and Adam to face the evil on their honeymoon.
What I enjoyed:
* Coyote and Thunderbird. Very interesting.
* Mercy and Adam getting married.
* Calvin, the poor boy has a lot to learn.
* Learning more about Mercy's Native American heritage.
* The walking stick just keeps getting more and more interesting.
What could have been better:

#6 in the Mercy Thompson paranormal series
I really like Mercy as a heroine. She's kick-ass, but she's also vulnerable and acts human in many ways when she has doubts about her actions, her marriage, and how she deals with the Pack. I particularly liked this book since it focused mostly on Mercy and Adam, working together against a common enemy. While they're on their camping honeymoon, they encounter a dangerous river devil who has been killing locals, and they work with Native American Spirit A ...more

Another great installment, though I did miss out on the people back home. Thank goodness for phone calls from Darryl. Mercy and Adam's honeymoon didn't go exactly as expected. As usual, there were behind the scenes shenanigans to get them into place to take care of someone else's problems. And they did, meeting a host of Native people and spirits along the way.

Excellent!! This book is all Mercy and Adam. The reader is allowed to wallow in their togetherness. It seemed a little strange to not have the pack and Mercy's various sidekicks, but I found that I loved the interaction that only Adam and Mercy can have. The Native American legends were suberb and the story of Mercy's father was great. I know that all good thing must end and I was very afraid that this was the last installment(even though I know there is one coming out the first of the year)beca

I don't think I liked this book as much as the others, Adam gets in the way a lot. I like that she's married and happy now, but I felt like this whole book was nothing but Adam worrying about Mercy. I enjoyed it though, I'll definately read the next one. I read the first book from her other series and I liked that one a lot too. I hope her two series don't become so similar that they're predictable. I like how Mercedes was a loner and Alpha & Omega were a team.
