Thud!

This is the first book in the World of Kate Daniels and tells Andrea's story. The story picks up after Magic Slays. Andrea has been released from the Order of Knights of Merciful Aid and is working with Kate at Cutting Edge. She and Raphael have split because of choices she made when Kate's Aunt Erra was destroying Atlanta. A job investigating the deaths of four shifters that worked for Raphael brings them back together. But not before Raphael flaunts an oversized Barbie doll type as hi

I like Andrea and really felt for her pain, especially when (view spoiler). If they continue the World of Kate Daniels series, I hope Roman gets his own story as I'd like to know more about him (got to love the Eeyore pjs) and he deserves someone special.

As for the main story, Raphael comes across as a spoiled jerk for the first half or so. I enjoyed Andrea's b

When I was reading the Kate Daniels series, I didn't really like Andrea Nash. Yeah yeah she was Kate's BFF but was she worthy of her own series? Well after reading this action-packed book, I'd have to say hell yes! Andrea is one kick-ass bouda heroine! This book is bloody and violent and great. I was turning pages as fast as I could read them just to find out what attacked Andrea next.

There's tons of stuff going on in this book (and Kate and Curran make an appearance or two as well). Andrea is

I understand the woman scorned, but I thought Andrea seemed unreasonably stubborn and annoying. If Andrea had such low self-esteem and a gorgeous, sexy male was interested, she should've been grateful for the attention. Instead she pushed him away and pouted when he didn't chase her down. Of course he was going to move on, she was stupid and naive to think he was pining for her. (view spoiler) ...more

This started out a little rough. It was hard to read from Andrea's perspective when I hadn't particularly cared for her before. I didn't dislike her, but I found her annoying. She was good in this, though. There was lots of action, peril, death bed scenes, etc., which kept me happy. I liked some of the secondary characters and both Andrea and Raphael were distinctly different from Kate and Curran.

This was much more of a romance than previous books which was fine. But Raphael did some unforgivab

#5.5 in the Kate Daniels paranormal series

This was pretty typical of the Kate Daniels series, but with a twist. This time we're following Andrea as the main character (Kate's best friend) and her future mate Raphael, the hyena alpha of the Pack. We pick up the story when Andrea and Raphael are fighting, having broken up when Andrea was ousted from the Order. There was a huge misunderstanding, and now they are at each other's throats--almost literally. But since they have to work together to solv

I am a huge Kate Daniels fan. It is one of my favorite series. There is no better female lead character than Kate. The relationship between Curran and Kate also can't be beat. I always hope at the end of the book the authors will write another one.

Gunmetal Magic is not a Kate Daniels book, but states "Kate Daniels World". It tells more of the story of Andrea-a shape shift whose father was born animal and changed to human. She is one of the back-up characters in the Kate Daniels series.
