Rosaline (Rosaline's Rolls & Scrolls)
I don't understand how this book is so good!

I am convinced the writer is using some kind of magic, because there's absolutely nothing special about the Kate Daniels series. The writing, for example, is way too descriptive and definitely not my favorite style. Every time I've picked a book in the series I have complained about the writing style. And every time after three chapters or so I have been dragged into the story by a strong force that made me forget everything and I have been unable to

This was another great book by Ilona Andrews. In this book the tech and magic were having issues and confusing everyone but there is also the problem with missing things. We get more of Kate and Curran even though they're opposites, Kate compassionate and Curran the big meanie, LOL, but he can be gentle and playful as well but both can be tough when the time is needed. I really enjoy when they are teamed up to work together on a case. Its like Kate said something always gets broken on her but wi ...more

3 1/2 Stars (rounded to 4). I enjoyed this book much more than the first. I love Kate and how she keeps Curran on his toes. There is a lot of world building and it took me a while become familiar with the characters and involved in the story. I am looking forward to seeing how this series develops.

I enjoyed this book. Sometimes, there were too many details about who hit whom with what and how during the fight scenes, and I am a bit unexcited by the verbal sparring between Kate and Curran - fish or cut bait already. But, I do really like Kate as a character, she is strong but also complex. I also appreciate the mix of characters carried over from the last book and new ones added for this one. The dystopian creation of Atlanta, USA is well done and interesting. I will read the next book in ...more

Better than the first book, but I wish there were more interactions between Kate and Curran.
