I admit I was a little worried after Magic Strikes because I loved that book so much. I wondered if the next book could live up to it. I shouldn't have worried because this book continued to keep me glued to the page, laughing, cringing at the danger and violence, and of course smiling.

I want to give it six stars. Honestly, when I first picked it up I was trying to remember what happened. Was this the one where they went to Georgia? Was this when she met Hugh? The blurb gave nothing away. As soon as I read the first page, it all came roaring back. I remembered everything. I even remembered the novella around the "hot tub incident." I loved reading this a second third time. Since I know where it's going and who Kate is, I really enjoyed seeing how Ted, Ghastek and Saiman treat

This book, for me, was better than the last one but it still had some of the same types of problems at book #3, but perhaps a bit watered down.
Like book #3, I enjoyed the story line. I also appreciated that the book followed the arc of the series and gave me pretty much what I expected from a Kate Daniels book, though in this case, unfortunately, both good and bad.
