Lovecraft è il maestro assoluto dell'orrore cosmico,i suoi racconti sono ancora incredibilmente forti e affascinanti da leggere,principalmente grazie alla capacità dell'autore di creare descrizioni abbastanza solide da intrigare il lettore ma anche sufficientemente aliene e misteriose da non evocare un'immagine precisa lasciando la possibilità ad ogni persona che si affaccia ai suoi miti di immaginarsi la propria versione dei grandi antichi e delle misteriose città e civiltà scomparse nel nulla
