Expanding the world beyond the warrior enclave, abrasive, polished, political, born to a Darkhaven, Sterling Chase complains to the warriors about youth missing from his Darkhaven. Sterling has his own idea of the warrior’s lives, an ulterior motive for offering to help search for the youths and provides glimpses of cloistered Darkhaven life.

Unaware Dante stole her memories of him, Tess is inexplicably drawn to Dante when she attends a social event with a friend. While on patrol, Dante and Sterling notice a human selling drugs to young vampires and see the instant effect as the drug turns them rabid. Dante’s anger soars past irate when he sees the dealer is Tess’ friend.

Sexy Dante and smart Tess tiptoe closer to romance each time they meet and it doesn’t take much before the pair share their secrets giving their romance a naturally effortless flow. With secrets hanging between Dante and Tess, plus both being betrayed by people they trusted, the rogues couldn’t pick a better time to strike.

For my taste, this strong sophomore effort stomps into its own path with not enough of Dante and Tess as the star making this reader anxious for more of them. Waves of testosterone leap off the page when Dante and Sterling team to hunt the drug that starts instant bloodlust, immediately turning vampires rogue and seemingly immune to the warrior’s weapons
