This is one of those books I've been putting off for so long, because everyone told me I'd love it and all the hype worries me. So I let it die down (a lot) and when I just can't wait anymore, I read it. Sometimes it is hype. We can't all enjoy the same books and despite liking both Pratchett and Gaiman, they have both let me down in the past. This one didn't let me down at all. Loved every second of it. Laughed out loud more than is recommended when reading in public. When you finish reading an ...more

I don't recall dreaming about a book I was reading until I picked this one up. It's so funny I found myself laughing out loud and I woke up reading pages from this book!

Laugh-out-loud funny in parts. A real pleasure to read something so silly and unique.

It is touted as a children's book, though I would suggest older, even teens would be more appropriate as it is theologically quite complicated and there are the occasional swear words smattered throughout. You can see why this book became a cult classic, it is genuinely very clever with a frenetic pace that speeds you among without losing any of the suspense ...more

Brilliant, five-star hilarity when the angel and demon are driving around together looking for the switched-at-birth antichrist. The rest dulled a bit in comparison, so four stars on balance.

It was a pretty decent book. The ending was not what I expected. But it was still a good ending. A couple of the characters got on my nerves. In the end though, I began to like them all.
