I'm not okay!

This is why I have not and will never read (view spoiler).

It's been such a long time since a book has elicited such an emotional response out of me. I feel numb!
There are books that you can analyze and criticize, write lengthy reviews about, and discuss for hours. And then there are books like this one. You can't say what you thought of it; you can only say how you felt. And I felt strongly.

The boy in this story is all of us. We all have th

Meh...

It wasn't a bad story. I think the problem I had with it was that I was expecting a lot more from it.

I heard SO many good things about this book that I wanted to read it very badly but when I started it I kinda guessed the ending... so it wasn't very heartbroken for me.

Yes it was sad, I'm not a monster (ha!) but I didn't really care for it.

I loved the illustrations tho!

I've seen the movie and I was a little afraid that when I read the book, the ending will not create an impact as beautiful as it did in the movie for me. I'm so glad this book proved me wrong.

I had not read any reviews when I picked up this book at the library. I grabbed it for a Listopia challenge, that listed it as Horror, not realizing it was also on a great number of lists with fabulous titles like "Ugly Cry" and "I Had No Idea This Book Would Be So Good."

A beautiful, powerful little book. Stunning images sprinkled throughout this lovely allegorical tale, uniquely told. Loved it.

I just finished reading, and I've never felt this way after reading a book before. I have this deep deposit sandess in me, it actually feels like my throat and chest are being constricted. At the same time I feel a sense of relief, relief from the sadness all at the same time.

Truths can really cage you in, but they also have the power to set you free!!
