Made it to a 4star read for me. It started a bit slow and I wanted to put it aside but I stuck with it and ended up being happy about it.
What worked for me? First & Foremost Deuce – really good character and I loved her choices. I also enjoyed her seeing topside for the first time. Fade was another winner for me – what can I say, I like ‘em surly. They had a great friendship leading to romance chemistry. Together and apart they worked. The Elders of the Enclave proved that the more things chang ...more

While reading this, at some point I was reminded of "The Maze Runner" by James Dashner. Probably because of the whole Hunter/Huntress role in things.
The world of Enclave was slightly different from most dystopian books, mainly because Deuce wasn't initially unhappy with how things worked in her world, unlike the main characters in the other books.

This would have gotten a 5 star if it wasn't for Stalker, he seriously creep me out. And the whole possible love interest...eww. I mean I believe people can change, and I understand that he did a lot of what he did b/c its all he knew and he wanted to survive, but a massive change like that takes time. Other than that I loved it.

I like my dystopias without zombies or other human-eating beings, so there were huge parts of this, especially in the beginning, that were too gory for me. I liked the characters ok, and the premise wasn't bad, but the writing wasn't all that good. I won't be bothering with the rest of the series.
