I don't understand it, but I liked this book better than the first book. In this book, Tally has become "Prettie" and is as air headed as the rest. But, David and the Smokies have a plan to help her to find her brain again.

I found this book engrossing and easy to read. I loved Zane and found myself rooting for some of the characters. I felt bad for other characters such as Shay and the other Crims. I did have some problems though and these caused me to rate it as 3.5 stars. It would have easily

As I entered puberty, I exited the YA section of the bookstore. I felt too grown up for what I deemed beach novels for girls with little gray matter. As an adult, I realized that I was cutting out a whole section of potentially good stories with this point of view. The problem is that as a (technically) young adult, I now know how to critique a story much better than before. Thus, from the get-go, I realized that Scott Westerfeld's second of four books in the Uglies series, Pretties, has some se ...more

Not a good as the first book. Didn't like how the book started with Tally already being "pretty" and the time jump from the first book. Also, the love triangle was frustrating and just didn't grab my attention. :( Parts were good, though! ...more

I saw a few negative reviews to this, and when I started reading I didn't really understand why people didn't like it as much as the first. Needless to say, I soon was making excuses to not read it each evening. I would rather organise my ebooks by genre and then subgenre than pick it up again. And I did. In the end I forced myself to read it and the only reason that I gave it two stars instead of one is because it had an intriguing ending. I would quite happily go the rest of my life without re ...more

At first, I wasn't too fond of Pretty Tally. She was too much of an airhead to me. But, as the story progressed, she became more like the old Tally. The story was great. I can't really say that I liked it more than Uglies. I loved them both in different ways. But, this is definitely something I would recommend to anyone. ...more

This book let me down in that the story made me a bit irritated. LOL. It's well written, which is why I was upset with the direction it took. (The same reason I'm irritated with George RR Martin) I do like the story line, and I continued on to the third book no problem. :) ...more

It was an ok book. I mean, I really hated Shay for what she did at the end and I rooted for Tally and Zane, but the series so far is just way too girly for me.
