I haven't read a book about Dresden for some time. I had a feeling that the last one wasn't as good as the earlier ones. Although, I decided to come back to this series and it was definitely a good decision. Blood Rites has this unique atmosphere we know form the first two books.

James Marsters is a master at the audio on these. Seriously.
Beyond that, I enjoyed this story. I liked his character development with both Thomas and Murphy. Mouse was also a great addition that I look forward to seeing develop as the story goes on. I would like to see Harry GET SOME SLEEP! There is no way he can function on no sleep after 5 days in a row. Same thing happened in the last book...and it's just not possible! LOL ...more

I've heard from other Harry Dresden fans that book 6 is when the series starts to slow down, but I still really enjoyed this book. I think the sarcasm went up a notch which was funny. I liked the story and I enjoyed seeing Murphy be vulnerable a bit.

I so love Harry! He took quite a few big hits in this installment and I have to say I was shocked by a few of them. I also enjoyed getting to see a new side to Murphy! She is such a great character and I hope to see her more involved in upcoming books.
