The first of the Kinsey Millhone mysteries read...from there, the previous novels were read as they were available in the library. After that, all were read as they came out.
Love Kinsey's independence,sassiness, and her VW Bug and her neighbor and landlord Henry (he has got to be one of the coolest characters in this series). The stories are complex enough as the private detective figures out the mystery.

I enjoy Kinsey Millhone's adventures as a private investigator but this book started with what I assume is a typo and through the first four or five chapters it jumps back and forth between events on December 24 and 27th. You have no way of knowing what happened when and the jumps caused me to stop and reread passages to try to figure out what was going on. For example: the first line of the book is "it was Monday, December 27". 2 pages later in the same chapter "the only signs of Christmas, two

I am reading this series in order as recommended by my sister. I thought this was one of the best so far in the series. It seems as though Grafton is definately getting better as she goes along. I also enjoy that meeting characters that have been briefly mentioned in other books. I am now onward to F is for Fugitive.
