I absolutely love this series...cupcake baker turned sleuth, Lizzy is funny as hell and Diesel is to-die-for sexy. The antics they get up to are just too much and their "crew" are just hysterical. We have Gloria "Glo", the counter girl at the bakery, who is a wizard-wanna-be and always trying potions on anyone requiring magical assistance and travels with her manly Broom. We have Carl, Diesel's pet monkey who's forever giving people the finger. We have Cat 7143, Lizzy's shelter cat who seems mor ...more

I really looked forward to this book because I enjoyed the first in the series, Wicked Appetite, so much. I like the characters of Lizzie and Diesel much more than Stephanie Plum. And overall, I enjoyed this book, too. It's light and somewhat silly, but that's OK sometimes. Other reviewers have complained about all the Boston history crammed into this book, but being from Boston and a history lover, I enjoyed that part a lot. (Although I'm pretty sure she has them going the wrong direction in on ...more

Another fun romp from Janet Evanovich! I'm a fan of the Stephanie Plum series and though I was a little apprehensive about continuing this series, I truly can't say no where Diesel is involved. He's one of my favorite characters! In my opinion, this book was better than the first, Wicked Appetite, where I believe Ms. Evanovich spent much of the time introducing her cast of characters, their setting, and why they were doing the things that they do. Now, that she's got all of the background info o ...more

#2 in the Lizzy and Diesel mystery series

As I look through my review of the first in this series, I see that I found it rather silly. But this time I enjoyed it much more, perhaps because of the excellent narration by Lorelei King. Sure, you have to suspend belief for the premise of the story (which is that Lizzy and Diesel are both part of a group of people who have paranormal talents of various sorts) and their task is to find the special stones that represent each of the 7 Deadly Sins. But th

My name is Lizzy Tucker, and I used to think I was normal.

The second book in the Wicked series. Lizzy and Diesel are on the trail of another SALIGIA stone. The stones are the keys to the seven deadly sins and this time out it is the stone for lust.

The characters in this book crack me up. I often want to go on an adventure with them...other than things involving small spaces. Carl the monkey is one of my favorites! I am a little scared of monkeys but I think I could live with Carl. Wulf is back a

I really like the characters in this series. Glo and Carl are just entertaining, while Diesel has that playful attractive thing which is always fun. I like it that there is more of a fantasy feel than the Stephanie Plum series but at the same time i feel like Lizzie and her bakery friends just kind of accepted that magic exists very quickly. Maybe that is because they live in Salem, idk but I'm going to keep reading this b/c they are quick and fun and light. ...more

My first completed Janet Evanovich book, it was humorous and enjoyable. It takes place in the Boston/Salem area, it teams Lizzie, a pastry chef, with Diesel, a paranormal investigator to find a SAGLIA stone, an enchanted object representing one of the 7 deadly sins.

Light and fluffy, its a perfect book to relax with during a busy semester.
