5 stars. Superb. Freakin' superb. Loved it so much that I changed my GR profile pic to a photo from the book. Yeah, that's a thing that happened and I have 0 regrets about it. I'm obsessed with it so it's cool. Whatever.

Where did this book come from? I was so indifferent on this series then BOOM! here comes this wonderful piece of writing and now I'm willing to become trash for it. Like, how dare you, King!

Blaine came too late in the game after having been foreshadowed to such an extent. Once he did, he was sufficiently creepy and batshit to justify all the foreshadowing. But then King went and did something unbelievably lazy - he left the ka-tet in the crazy train heading to Topeka and decided the book was ended. And no Stephen, I don't believe you "had" to end the novel there.

Here's hoping Wizard and Glass isn't as bad as I remember - that's where I got stuck - right in the middle of Roland rem ...more
