I listened to the audio version of Yellow Crocus and Bahni Turpin did an excellent job with the narration. As others have said, this book has good bones and to my way of thinking could have been better if it hadn't been so quite so tidy, but I still really enjoyed it. It is a story of relationships, both functional and miserably dysfunctional, and if it doesn't delve deeply enough into the atrocity that was slavery, the mindset of the southern slave owner certainly shone through in shocking deta ...more

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was well written with a story that developed well but at the same time was not cumbersome. It was a very delightful and inspiring book, one that reminds us of human caring and emotions, no matter our outward appearances.
