I know this isn't said that often, but I thought the movie was better than the book. The book gets boggled down by back story that does nothing to really develop the characters. I didn't really care about any of the characters. Despite the back story you read about every one, I don't really feel as if any of them are developed into anything to care about. For some I know this was a hard book to get into, but for me I actually enjoyed it. I guess it helped that I saw the movie before reading the book. I liked the characters and plot of the story. I liked how the chapters are divided up into each month of what book was being read and which character was being responsible for that book. And we got to read about each character and their story through a Jane Austen book.
