4 stars. If it wasn’t for the second half of this book, I definitely would’ve rated this lower. This is a slow moving novel that kind of just creeps up on you and then things take a turn and knocks you on your ass. I loved it. The writing is superb, she makes the setting work really well. It’s moody and atmospheric and gothic. The characters were all very interesting and the story kept me guessing.
