What Members Thought

I read this book because it was the selection of one of the goodreads groups that I belong to. It is definitely not something I would choose for myself. Therefore, I am surprised how much I liked this story. Even though it's totally not my style.
What surprised me the most is that it is not a sad book. Despite the fact that it starts with Nora, the main character loses her will to live and tries to commit suicide. Here is a great trigger warning for all those who find this topic extremely difficu ...more

Nora Seed believes she has nothing left to live for and decides to end her life. What she doesn't expect is to have her path put her on a different path one where she can choose the type of life she may want, but will she find what she is looking for?

I know that I'm very much in the minority here, but I liked this book. I didn't love it.
I was expecting so much more after reading all the 5 star gushing reviews, but it was all a bit fluffy, and very predictable. You can see where it's going before the halfway point, and I had to force myself to keep reading, as it all seemed a bit slow.
It does pick up at the point she meets 'Hugo', and as someone who is fascinated by the idea of parallel universes, I enjoyed seeing Nora as different version of ...more

A well written book with an interesting premise, executed in an easy to read fable. It's laid out exactly how you would expect a book in this genre to be, no shocks or twists, a predictable ending. Great summer beach read when you want to relax into a nice, compelling, yet not strenuous book.

This book was definitely a page-turner, but not one I especially enjoyed. I gave it 3 stars. I liked the underlying concept of letting go of one's regrets, but it gradually got rather repetitive and therefore somewhat boring, as well as a bit too preachy or "feel-good"y. Also, to get into it, the reader has to suspend a lot of disbelief about how any one person (view spoiler) , if only her choi
