Well written and a gripping story. Was riveted by the storyline, and all the twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat. The two MCs had a good dynamic and worked well together. Lots of action with a fast pace.

The Bone Collector by Jeffery Deaver is the book that introduces us to quadriplegic forensic expert Lincoln Rhyme and his associate Amelia Sachs.I have enjoyed his other books and have seen the movie but for some reason had not got around to reading this first book before. It was fabulous and I loved every page. I now feel I will need to reread all the other books in order as you otherwise miss the character progression.

After reading the book, I re-watched the movie, and frankly the book really was better. More focused on the forensics of the cases... and their is just some kind of gratification when the puzzle is solved and NOT everyone dies. I read this for the first time soon after the movie came out. Really enjoyed the extra depth in the parts that had to be dropped out of the movie.

I remember really enjoying it as a thriller back then and wondered if I would again because if so... a whole series to read!

Answer: Yes I do and I'm already halfway through Coffin Dancer as I write this.

Admittedly I keep picturing Denzel & Angelina as Rhyme & Sachs and wish there'd been more movies made but the writing is 5 stars for me for this kind

Good start to the series. I have read some books later in the series, so I was a bit impatient about Rhymes and Sachs relationship but that is my fault. Perhaps I thought the investigators jumped to a bunch of conclusions and the ending seemed fast. I did not figure out the killer in advance, I thought I knew, but then the story twisted.
