I have mixed feelings about this book. I enjoyed the premise and see the importance of the characters struggles, especially as a woman, however I just didn't really enjoy the book, possibly because I wasn't in the mood for the genre but it was just okay to me ...more

2.5/5… eh???? I’m not really sure about how I feel about this one. I think I’m spoiled by having recently read Nightbirds which had a similar theme but was so rich and imaginative. I feel like I’ve read this book before… At first it felt like a decent throwback to my dystopian days as a teenager, but the insta-love and amount of insta-revelations was unreal. Yeah. Not terrible, and I think I have a bias, but not amazing either.

ETA also there’s a big theme of male saviorism which doesn’t seem to ...more
