This book was so devastatingly beautiful.

This is How You Lose the Time War follows two time-travelling agents known only as Red and Blue. Red and Blue present mainly as female, and they travel to and from different timelines and universes, weaving what they call strands to make sure certain outcomes happen.

For example, if someone is inspired or pushed into a certain action such as setting up a refuge for others, that will spark a chain of events which could lead to a future world leader or some

3 stars. The writing was absolutely beautiful and I thought both author’s writing styles mixed really well together and was a smooth read. The characters were okay but because this is story is so short I never formed any type of connection. The romance was good though. I think this would’ve benefitted greatly from being just a bit longer but as it is it’s fine. A quick read with beautiful writing and an interesting plot but the execution falls short due to the length.

Red and Blue are soldiers in a Time War that follows threads of time changing things to get their desired outcome for their respective sides, Agency and Garden. They begin to notice each other and respect their strategy, then leave letters in weird methods that draw them closer until the inevitable when their commands take notice. This was pretty confusing at the beginning. However, I pursued to the end. It just wasn't my cup of tea. ...more
