Whoa this was an intense story. I have to say Maggie really went through some rough moments with all that has happened to her and totally understandable. I wouldn't know what I would do in her position. I hated what any of those that supposedly loved her did or didn't do. Some were jerks and heartless but I have to say her sister was annoying but she did stand by her sister and was more helpful in her crazy way which I so enjoyed. Some surprises do pop up but everything comes together in the end

Katherine Center is rapidly becoming one of my favorite authors. While the events of the story are heart-wrenching at times, I loved the characters. I appreciated the personality that Center created for Margaret and the strength that Margaret showed through all of her developments and setbacks. The relationship between the two sisters had me hysterical; one should be so lucky as to have a sister like Kat to pull you out of the depths of despair and point you toward progress. Great read!

I recently read Things You Save in a Fire and really enjoyed it, so I moved on to this book and it was just as good! Margaret Jacobsen is afraid of flying, but someone how her boyfriend talks her into taking a flight in a small plane with him. They crash and Chip walks away without a scratch, but Margaret's life is forever changed. Everything she had planned for her perfect life is turned on its head. I loved how this book showed how easily our plans can be upended, and how good things can come
