Caution: This review will contain swearing (or edited swearing) because this book was, for the most part, an absolute mindf**k!

So yes, I heard that this book was worth a read before I picked it up. I didn't know too much about it or the author, but I was seeing it everywhere. Took me a while to actually get to it, though, and I AM SO GLAD I DID! I listened to the audio book and it was fantastic. Honestly, this book reminded me a little bit of Timeline by Michael Chrichton, in that it was so well

I can't even begin to describe how much I adored this book. Blake Crouch's Dark Matter is a nail-biting, science fiction, thriller unlike any other I have ever read. I cannot go into much detail because the fun of the book is trying to figure out what is going on and how it could all be happening. Some of this was unsurprising but there were also a few unexpected twists and turns that kept the momentum going on this taut and thrilling sci fi story.

I did enjoy the ride

Alright. I give in to the hype. This was indeed a really good read. Though I was able to figure out the premise fairly easily and felt that Jason was maybe a bit naive as to his circumstances at first, the book was really well constructed and certainly pulled some serious punches in the last third. The writing is fun and scientific without being too far over my head, though I was lost in the physics a couple of times momentarily.

The beginning starts pretty normally and I was kind of l

The concept for this book is intriguing and thought-provoking. It also had a way of keeping me reading, even when I was a little bored with the MC, because I was curious if (view spoiler) I was a bit disappointed with the ending, but I'm not sure how else it could've ended. ...more
