Holy shit this was good!
For some reason, I didn't notice the #1 at the end of the title, and I had no idea it was a book one, so the ending was a big ol' surprise for me. Needless to say, I'm jumping right into book 2!
Very awesome, suspenseful read that had me coming back to the treadmill every day just so I could find out what was going to happen next! Loved it!! :) ...more

Really great page turner about a mother of two who wants nothing more than to leave her past behind and keep her kids safe. Gwen (formerly Gina Royal, wife of a cold-blooded killer) uproots her children and changes their identities every few months, thinking it is keeping them safe from those who believe she was involved in her husband's killings. She finally thinks they may have found a haven in Stillhouse Lake until the murders begin.

4 stars. I wasn’t too sold on this one in the beginning. The story was kinda dry but it picks up at about 20-25% and then it gets good. This is dark and it kept me on the edge of my seat. I needed to know who was committing the murders and let me tell you, I did not see that twist coming at all. I’m usually pretty good at figuring out whodunnit but Caine stumped and surprised me with this one.

A very suspensefull thriller. How do you feel if you don’t know who is the trust? If you know your ex is a serial killer and wants you and your children to be distroyed. What if you trust the wrong people each and every time? How do you protect your children and yourself from this?
