I read this book right after the previous one. While I still consider it excellent, I liked the first book in this series more. This one was a bit different, and in my opinion, more conventional in many ways.

Gut punch in the middle of this book. I do not want to ruin anything but man Gwen becomes an island and it was so difficult to read that part. I am a bit torn about the end. There is this long build up for two books but then the end seemed rushed.
Will read book 3 just to revisit the characters. Javi is my favorite, he needs his own book.
