This was such a different experience compared to the first book of the series. I mean, I liked The Thief, but it wasn't jaw droppingly amazing or anything. Mostly I wanted to deck Gen. Loved it!

It has been so long since I read the first one I had a bit of a time remembering what Eugenides stole and why. Now he is back and hiding in a castle and the queen is flushing him out. Two countries will go to war, two will be allies and a third is waiting to pick up the pieces. Engaging and interesting enough to keep my attention now to look for the next book in the series.
