So this was a darker twisted retelling of the Little Mermaid. So our focus is a siren, instead of a mermaid (they are in here too though). The Sea Queen both holds the famous trident and has tentacles... Sirens hunt humans and now some humans are hunting them back. It is a slow-fought war. 3 stars. Cool concept but I was not invested in the characters at all. They felt so generic and basic YA character like. The writing was fine, the pacing was smooth, and again the plot and setting were really interesting. After being in a reading slump for some months now I decided to read this book and I'm glad that I did. It is the first one I finish since September and I like this story and the characters.
For me it only lacks in terms of romance.

I gave this book 3.3 out of 5*, it is not the usual mermaid book but i recommend it to someone you likes that books as well.
