I hadn't read this series for a long time and I wasn't sure if I would still like it and remember what it was about. But I was unnecessarily worried.

As a rule, I don't like funny books. I just rarely find them amusing, and most often they irritate me. This is one of the exceptions. I admit that this series balances on a very fine line between what amuses me and what makes me roll my eyes. But so far, most of the time, it has managed to stay within this boundary.

Charley is a heroine that is impos

The dead guy at the end of the bar kept trying to buy me a drink.

Charley is working a case at her dad's bar when she meets her next soul that needs to crossover. However, he is not ready and we soon learn that he may know the true identity of Mr. Wong. Meanwhile back at her apartment, a little blonde girl arrives with a multitude of blond women. Charley begins searching for the serial killer that she is sure murdered them all. Reyes has moved in next door to Charley much to her dismay particular

#5 in the Charley Davidson series

This series keeps getting better and better. Charley is still quirky and with a silly sense of humor, but she's toned down considerably and is much more likable. (Either that or I've gotten used to her.) Her romance with Reyes is heating up big-time, which adds a very strong sense of romance to this series, which I enjoy. The mystery of the departed women crowding her apartment was interesting and kept the story moving forward with her detective work. Uncle Bob,

I wish I had given this series a chance sooner, but then I'm glad I didn't because now I don't have to wait so long before I can start the next one. At least until I fly through to the most current book, then I am going to feel so lost and I'm a little worried about that. Basically, what everyone has said about this series is true.

Charley is at it again, but this time there are dead blonde girls and women showing up in her apartment traumatized out of their minds. They won't communicate with Cha

Darynda Jones has created a world and storyline that I can't seem to walk away from, not do I want to. Fifth Grave Past the Light is no different in that I couldn't stop reading/listening!

I enjoyed watching the characters develop and interact with one another. Also, from a future sign language interpreter's perspective, I also appreciated that Deaf cult

All, I can say is this is just as hilarious as the other 4 before it. If I didn't love it so much I would be embarrassed by the fact that I sat reading and laughing like a loon. Everyone in my vicinity kept asking me what was so funny(they thought I was laughing at them), but each time I gladly explained that they wouldn't understand until they took the time to get to know Charley Davidson.

To add to that wonderfulness(is that word?), she and Reyes was so adorable in this book. So was Cookie by t

I think Charley is growing on me. I still find her a bit too irreverent, but that is probably her way of dealing with her crazy life.

I was glad to see the thing with Reyes is actually turning into a relationship. Also good to see Garrett getting some answers and holding his own. The mystery was a bit freakier this time with all the dead blonde women showing up and acting so weird.

I do so enjoy Charley’s antics and this book is no different! I was surprised how long the story went without “action”; not that the “action” between Charley and Reyus was dull. These two are really making it happen and I’m anxious to see where the ride takes this couple next!
